Last bottles of an organic British bargain I'm currently working on a survey of the best organic wines around and find to my frustration, as is so often the case, one wine I'd love to recommend is nearly sold out. Domaine du Bousquet Merlot 2001 Vin de Pays du Gard (£4.99 Marks & Spencer) is much the liveliest of the organic reds under a fiver that I have tasted. Grapes grown in the sandy soils of the Camargue give a bright-coloured, bright-flavoured scented wine that is far from complicated but is of real interest to those who seek keenly-priced organic wines.
