Strictly for those who retain an interest in matters royal, here is proof that I was there and an answer to the most frequently asked question, 'What did she say to you?'
Bear in mind that I have just been announced as 'Jancis Robinson, for services to broadcasting and journalism' and an Equerry has just prompted HM with a whispered 'wine, Ma'am'.
HM (looking rather doubtful): 'So, you write?'
JR: 'Yes, Your Majesty, and talk quite a lot too.'
HM (looking no less puzzled): 'And broadcast too?'
JR: 'Yes, Ma'am'. (At least I think I remembered my Ma'am...)
HM: 'About wine?'
JR: Gush, gush.
HM: 'Good,...
