In Virginia - the tasting notes and Virginia wine - first impressions, one winery comes in for particular praise, Rutger de Vink's RdV Vineyards. I am eternally grateful to Purple pager and fellow wine writer David Schildknecht, who practically forced me to take a detour as soon as I landed at Dulles for the Wine Bloggers' Conference last July to go and inspect this new operation.

Below is a short film of Rutger touring his immaculately designed and kept vines. Keep an eye open for his home, a silver airstream camper in the woods. Enjoy the views of Virginia's horse country and the Blue Ridge Mountains, too.
