Taste your way round Portugal in London

The Portuguese are taking a leaf out of the Australians’ book (see the Great Australian Wine Experience) and are holding a consumer version of their trade tasting on the evening of March 27 at Lords Cricket Ground in London NW8. Buying a ticket will help Comic Relief.

Portuguese table wines are some of the world’s most distinctive (see articles listed below), thanks to the country’s array of characterful indigenous grape varieties and I can recommend that anyone with an interest in wine but ignorance of Portugal should remedy this as soon as possible. Eighty producers will be showing their wares from a country that won more trophies than ever before in the 2006 International Wine Challenge.

TICKETS: £10 each (£5 concessions) and a proportion of the ticket price goes to Wine Relief.
