2004 burgundy tasting notes - introduction
My tasting notes on more than 800 wines, representing almost 1,000 tastes in total, should be read in conjunction with my overview of the 2004 Burgundy vintage which appears in fine wine news .
Many of these wines were tasted several times, up to six in some cases, although many important 2004 burgundies are not included here – notably those of producers such as DRC, Leroy and Dujac who do not provide pre-bottling samples. Most of these notes were made in early January 2006 but some, marked with a much earlier date, were made in September 2005, also in London.
