Great value from southern Italy
I recently tasted about 80 reds from southern Italy and the islands. These wines used typically IMHO to be either too alcoholic to drink with ease or vapid, over-produced commercial liquids bottled to a price, but I was impressed by how much more interesting and better balanced they seem with each succeeding vintage.
