Mouton in top vintages 2001-1982

The first château-sanctioned vertical of Mouton I can remember in London was organised recently by wine merchants Bibendum. Herv é Berland presented these wines plus 2001s from sister properties Chx d’Armailhac (14.5 Drink 2009-16) and Clerc Milon (16 Drink 2008-20) as well as the admirable but very different Chilean joint venture Almaviva (17 Drink 2004-08). The following are my tasting notes on the Moutons, taken as usual in blissful ignorance of Parker points. See the end of the notes for the room’s overall scores of these wines (three points for a first place, one point for a third place etc)....
