Bordeaux 2005 primeurs - one last offer?

24 Aug 2006 by JR
For some reason, Britain’s most upmarket supermarket chain Waitrose, which enjoys a high reputation for its wine selection, has decided to make its en primeur offer now, several months after everyone else.

A look at their
online offer nicely illustrates what nonsense it is that buyers are abstaining from investing in the most highly-priced wines. You will also see that there are few bargains at the top end, but no shortage of modestly priced wines lower down the ranks.

If you were thinking of taking the plunge but feel you have missed the boat, I don’t think you would regret laying in a dozen Langoa Barton (£450), Bahans Haut Brion (a lovely wine for £354), and specially not Feytit Clinet (£254).
