Wines of SW France

James Stark, UK: I wonder whether you could give us your views on the wines of South West France. I note your recent recommendations for wines from the Languedoc Roussillon but it seems to me that winemaking is much improved in SW France as well. I know that many people will have heard of and perhaps been lucky enough to taste the wines of beacon winemakers like Luc de Conti, the Bilancinis at Tirecul la Gravière, Clos d'Yvigne, Brumont, Ramonteu etc but I feel that they are perhaps the tip (and often expensive tip) of the iceberg....
