Turning Cristal into gold?
Minnie Drury: Do you think that 12 bottles of 1997 Louis Roederer Cristal at approx £940/£970 would be a good investment? me: No. If you check on www.winesearcher.com you will see you can find it at £77.87 plus duty a bottle from Albany Vintners i.e. about the same price as you mention (which I assume includes all duties and taxes?) so this is hardly an amazing bargain. Nor is the wine that rare or famous. And by the time you pay commission on selling a case of champagne I can't really see you making a substantial gain.
