Chanoine and other 1998 champagnes
Pieter Rosenthal, UK: In the run up to Christmas you gave us an insight on the various champagne bargains around. A friend of mine brought to my attention that Tesco were offering Chanoine Brut 1998 for £14.49, dropping to £13.77 when buying a half case. I did pick up a couple of bottles as the offer seemed pretty good, even though I believe 1998 is not one of the best champagne vintages. Have you tried this particular wine, and if so, what are your impressions?
