Dubious supermarket champagne offer
Michael Keating, London SW19: At the risk of lowering the tone of purple pages, has any reader by chance failed to have delivered by Asda champagne offered at ridiculously low prices last month? I ordered half a dozen Veuve Clicquot at their offer price of £17.99, less another 10 per cent for six bottles - £16.19, plus other items. The order was confirmed by email, but only the other items were delivered. I am still pestering them for the bubbly but receive only flippant responses such as "internet prices are only a guide", and I must re-order (at the normal price of course of £23.99). 05 apr: Asda's PR person responds...
