Ben Greene, Brighton, UK: I wonder if you could help my Grandfather, retired vicar of Petworth, with a question from one of his parishoners which, despite the help of the Oxford Companion to Wine , has me foxed. Here is his e-mail: "Could I trouble you for some scholarly advice?   There is a parishoner here who is disturbed by the fact that the present Rector has introduced the use of white wine at the Communion.   In support of his preference he asserts to her that in New Testament times there was only white wine.  I find this a bit difficult to believe, but I can't think of any reference work to consult.  Please can you...
