Should French wine labels specify vine varieties?

Leon Stolarski, Nottingham: An interesting thread has cropped up on Tom Cannavan's message board at http://www.wine-pages.com/cgi-bin2/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=002907 in reference to an article in the San Francisco Chronicle . You can see the article here; http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2005/04/28/WIGV8CDIGV1.DTL It deals, in part, with the ongoing boycott by US consumers of French wines, as a result of France's lack of support for the Iraq war. Apparently though, sales of Champagne and classed-growth Bordeaux remain largely unaffected, so I assume that the more well-heeled US buyers are willing to...
