Bordeaux - is 2002 better than 2003?
Jamie Taylor, New South Wales: Clive Coates recently said, "I certainly remain convinced that 2002 bordeaux is much better, as well as more classic, than 2003, whatever the prices might indicate." I was just wondering what your thoughts were and whether you agreed. me: I’d say that the best 2002s are closer to my personal preferred style of red bordeaux than typical 2003s, but that there are a lot of disappointing 2002s. I’ve long been a bit down on 2003s in general. I don’t like those very dry tannins and, in some wines, almost raisined character. But they are certainly distinctive and unusual: bordeaux in Rhône...
