Alex Hunt, London: Very interested to read in Jaboulet and Trimbach trounced by the likes of Jacobs Creek that washed-out, over-evolved Jaboulet is not a problem restricted to the Institute of Masters of Wine 1999 tasting, where I found the wines to be just as you say - shocking. Who would have thought during the '70s and '80s that one day, young La Chapelle from a great vintage would look and smell like indifferent 30 year-old burgundy. Very sad.
