Should one worry about hazy Bass Phillip?
Andy, Harrogate: I was recently fortunate to share a bottle of Bass Phillip Premium Chardonnay 1999 with some friends. The depth of flavours were incredible but the wine had a curious fine haze. Another friend had a Pinot, which also was a bit murky. Do you think this is just a classic case of a wine not been compromised for aesthetic appearance by over fining and filtering or do you think something a bit more sinister is going on? me: I think this is characteristic of this extremely idiosyncratic producer and is not atypical of the anti-filtration brigade.
