More rosé reaction
Rodrigo Mainardi, São Paolo: After reading you exciting Scores of pink wines - some really lovely I was eager to try Alvaro Castro's new Quinta da Pellada Rosé 2003. I took a bottle home to see how it would compare to Redoma, my favourite as well. I was very impressed by the wine. It has a real grip and a hint of that delicious Touriga Nacional sweet flower perfume (if you know what I mean) and a very refreshing acidity. Although I was eating something else I thought it would go extremely well with a succulent lamb of pork stuffed with a mild prune chutney. This revival of rosé made me think if there could be a place for good...
