Why is pink champagne so expensive?
Joe Asch, NH: Why is rosé champagne so much more expensive than the regular cuvée from the same maker? me: Because it's fashionable, rarer and in great demand. Many champagne houses are currently rationing their pink wines. They might argue that there is a little more skill in getting the colour just right but this alone doesn't account for the price difference.
