German wine - being a tourist

Pieter Rosenthal, Glasgow: I'm in the process of organising a wine-week away at the start of October and consider visiting Germany (any/all regions) and Alsace. Can you advise of a few producers 'not to miss', that wouldn't mind a visit around this time? I realise they might be getting a bit busy around then. me: I’d say early October would be a reasonably good time to visit. The wine producers themselves will definitely be there, even if they will probably a bit more preoccupied in Alsace, where the vintage is generally earlier than in most German wine regions. You could do worse than look in German 2004s – the tasting...
