Getting a grip on Majestic's burgundy offer
Peter Cakebread, London: I read about the Majestic Burgundy offer with much interest, subsequently visited a few stores, and came away with a number of bottles. Most are 1999 and 2000 premier cru red burgundies from Dominique Laurent and Vincent Girardin. Communes are Nuits St Georges, Chambolle Musigny, Pommard, and Vosne Romanee. To me these look good value at £16-£20. What is your opinion on when they should be opened? I understand that the Laurent wines are heavily oaked, but am not sure if this makes them longer maturing? BTW, the offer is a bit frustrating, as each store seems to have differing wines, and nobody seems to...
