Banyuls 1965 - a satisfied customer
Aeyal Gross, Tel Aviv: I want to thank you so much for your recommendation , thanks to which I recently got to drink a wine from my birth year! Reading on the 1965 vintage , it is always cited as a bad vintage year in all the wine areas. In Vintage Wine Michael Broadbent writes of red Bordeaux, "wet, miserable summer... mean, short, acidic wines", and of white Bordeaux, "disastrous vintage". Burgundy did not do better, the reds "the worst-ever", the whites "atrocious vintage". And Port, which did so well in 1963 and 1966, is "a vintage not declared".
