Visiting the Champagne region
Iain Lo, The Hague: I am going to visit the Champagne region soon. Which house do you recommend that I visit? I'm interested in a tour of the wine making facilities and caves. I would also be grateful for any recommendations of good restaurants for lunch. me: I always think fellow purple pagers are better at this sort of thing than me. Off the top of my head, I'd recommend one of the bigger houses for a really good tour - though not so big that you feel as though you're on a production line. I'd say you want some atmospheric cellars hewn out of that famous calcareous rock. I seem to remember that Veuve Clicquot can oblige?...
