English vignerons swap Seyval and Müller for Pinot and Chardonnay
George Biswas, Virginia Water: I trust you are well. I visited the 31st English Wine Fair held over the last weekend at the English Wine Centre at Alfriston in East Sussex. It seems to me the top end of the industry is outgrowing this event, which has more of the atmosphere of a regional agricultural show. The day was very enjoyable, helped by the beautiful location and lovely sunny weather. Unfortunately a few key players were missing, most notably English Wine Producers (EWP) who have in the past shown a range of wines from wineries unable to be present themselves; this meant some of the country's top wineries such as Nyetimber...
