Shall we get together offline?
Derek Parry, Devon: Have been reading with interest Steve Dutton's recent contributions to your turn. I like, particularly, his idea of you and five or six other wine writers getting together to give "blind" tasting comparisons. That sowed a seed. Have you ever had a gathering of purple pagers? If not, how about a meeting at a suitable venue (Vintners' Hall? Vinopolis?) where you could have such a tasting - and open up the "contest" to all attendees. Should make for some good entertainment and a very pleasant experience. If cost was a problem, wouldn't some of the leading merchants be interested in sponsoring the...
