Winteringham Fields under new management
Martin Nettleton, Yorkshire: Last night saw a nervous return to my favorite restaurant bar-none, Winteringham Fields near Scunthorpe. Annie and Germaine Schwab, who took the 'restaurant with rooms' to two stars, left in August, leaving behind the head chef Robert Thompson who has been taking control of the kitchen for some years. Change is always unsettling, especially when so many fantastic memories are associated with a place. Some of the dining room team have also moved on.
