How to store screwcapped bottles...

Chris Honeywill, Surrey:   One of my favourite New Zealand Pinot Noir wines is Ata Rangi and the 2002 vintage is bottled with a screw top, as are many wines from NZ. I wonder is it necessary to store these bottles on their side? Will the wine continue to develop  as previously, when a traditional cork was used or is there a change in the time frame for the wine to peak? me: There is strictly not the same imperative to keep the bottles on their side in order to keep the stopper damp if that stopper is a screwcap rather than a natural cork, but many tehnical people suggest that putting them horizontally in a rack can protect the...
