G Velthuis, Holland: I recently bought a bottle of Ch Palmer 1978 at a charity auction. Despite my internet search I couldn't find any information regarding the current quality. Should I drink it (immediately?!). Is it too late? Or can I even keep it a bit longer? What is your opinion? me: I'd drink it sooner rather than later. In general the better 1978s (particularly Graves - I have fond memories of Domaine de Chevalier and La Mission was stunning on 17 oct 05) are already at their best, if quite low-key and subtle, now. Be careful not to serve it with much riper or younger wines which could easily overwhelm it, and I'd...
