So what of the 2005 vintage?
Carol Horton, Rome: How do you, and others, rate the 2005 wines, in general? They say that, in Italy, the vintage this year may not turn out well because of all the rains. And Europe in general, seems to have been hit by very strange weather. I wonder how France or Spain will fare, for example? me: Hang on! It's awfully early to pronounce. Some of the grapes are still on the vines. I can tell you that the Bordelais are pretty cock-a-hoop, as are the Burgundians and those in the northern Rhône (have yet to hear from the southern Rhône), but that's the word of the producers.
