When to drink DRC 2000s and 1997s

John Brinkco, Los Angeles: Can you tell me your current thinking regarding when the 1997 and 2000 Domaine de la Romanée Conti will be ready to be enjoyed? me: We seem to have rather a lot of questions about DRC burgundies here. Lucky purple pagers! I reckon the 2000 Echézeaux and Grands Echézeaux could be rather good drinking at the moment. See my tasting notes on 2000 DRC burgundies in barrel . And you could probably try as high up the scale as Richebourg in the '97s. Wish I had a complete set of tasting notes taken recently to set before you...
