John Goodwin, London: if you were choosing between the '88,'90 and '99 vintages of Yquem (in halves) for an end-of -year and continuing thereafter treat, which case would you extract from your reserves and open first (assuming you don't think it's too early)? PS Those of us who have never believed in the wine as investment hype are enjoying the embarrassment of those merchants whose aggressive marketing has been (unsurprisingly) trumped by the Treasury's decision . me: I'd choose 1990 (I assume that '99 is not a misprint for '89, in which case I might consider 1989).
