Memories of Mortet
Nick O'Callaghan, Time for Wine, Ireland:
I was very saddened to hear your news about the death of Denis Mortet. When I lived in Burgundy I became quite good friends with his son Arnaud. I first met them in the small cafe on the main street in Vougeot, Café de Vougeot if I remember correctly. Incidentally, the first bottle of Grand Cru I ever bought was a Chambertin 1993 chez Mortet. I still have it. When should I drink it?
