Ducru 2004 - two very different opinions

Andrew Vincenti, Malta: I have a question re the tasting notes for the 2004 Bordeaux .  I bought a number of them en primeur including Ch Ducru-Beaucaillou.  My wine club's notes said this was "Quintessential St-Julien, Ducru-Beaucaillou’s characteristics are of the most wonderful elegance and breeding. The 2004 is a masterclass in classic bordeaux. This is beautifully harmonious St-Julien, a wine with a glossy sheen and poised refinement." Yet your tasting notes are completely dfferent: "Not very St Julien at all. Big, bold and a bit of a formless blob"!!  Question: How come...
