Cooking with corked wine

As a Councillor who has to deal with the press on a regular basis I have great sympathy with your dealings with reporters . We have said for a long time about our local newspaper that the only thing you should believe is the date of publication - then recently they even got this wrong!
Is corked wine usable for cooking?

My instinct was not and I found the following useful posting from aug 03. It would seem that using corked wine in any form of reduction is definitely inadvisable, as one would expect, but that simply adding it as an ingredient to a liquid...
