Eating out and staying in Venice

George Spencer, London SW11: We found your Venice for the Hungry notes (may 02) very helpful as a starting point for our recent visit. We used the Ca Pisani hotel in Dorsodura as our base.  It was extremely comfortable, friendly, helpful, blessedly quiet and well placed for travel via Vaporetti and Allilaguna (for the airport).  We ate once at Vecio Fritolin in Calle de la Regina and it remains true to your four year-old description. Other successful meals were at Osteria da Fiore (the only rosetted Venetian restaurant shown in our 04 Michelin ) and at Ribo in Fondamento Minotto. Da Fiore...
