Harry Cragoe, London: My eagle-eyed wife purchased a bottle of very 'New World'-looking white wine from Sainsbury's a couple of days ago calling itself Kiwi Cuvee.  On closer examination however, what looked like just another New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc turned out in fact to be 'Produce of France - Vin de Pays du Jardin de la France.'  Isn't this a little like the English making a fizzy wine and calling it Champagne Cuvée? What an interesting development!  I wonder if the millions of litres of wine that remain unsold in France would do any better if they were re-badged with something a little...
