The curse of the large wine glass

Bisso, Simple Wine News, Moscow: A couple of weeks ago I came across an article in  The Independent stating that the trend for larger wine glasses is creating "unwitting alcoholics" in the UK. The article points out that British people feel cheated if at a wine bar they do not get a big wine glass filled to the brim (the indirect idea is this, if I got it right). Can that be true? The wine consumers in Britain, that has always been a "showcase wine market", are they really so "negligent" about wine drinking culture (having that much of TV, books, newspapers and special magazines...
