The best white riojas

And now a flurry of beginner questions ensues.....! I was very much impressed by a white rioja that I had in a restaurant some time ago. I believe the tasting notes described it as 'full throttle'. It was not expensive - around £15, I believe. Of course, this was before I paid any detailed attention to wine, so I have retained no information about it except the wonderful memory. I am now on the search for a wine that might live up to the personal legend this has become. Any suggestions, folks? I have tried the Marques de Murrieta Cappellania Gran Reserva 1998 from Majestic.
