How to store screwcapped bottles

Mario Mizzi, Malta: I suppose there is a point about the possible risk in storing srewcapped bottles upright but, assuming it was safe, there could then well be another advantage as it should help the wine age even more slowly, and presumably better, given the smaller wine surface area in contact with air.. me: Certainly the Australian king of the screwcap, Jeffrey Grosset, says you can safely store screwcapped bottles upright, but he favours making no changes of behaviour for this new stopper. Of course there’s a certain space and accessibility advantage to a wine rack and it won’t do...
