Comments on my German 2005 vintage report

In your article on the 2005 vintage here in Germany, you focussed mostly on the north. I feel however, that the further south one goes, the less "near perfect" the vintage becomes. Although they've all been ripe, many of the whites from the Pfalz, Baden and Württemberg seem to suffer from dilution to one degree or another (as do many of the Alsatians from the same year), and/or a lack of crisp acidity. There are exceptions, but in general, the whites just seem to lack the focus and concentration that their northern cousins have in spades. Oddly enough, I've read almost nothing...
