Patricia, London:   Re High summer thoughts on food and wine matching - As you are aware, I am an avid veggie-consumer, especially fresh salads and crudités. So I'm delighted to have my personal views confirmed by an expert. We have a "standard" Saturday lunch: salad, breads, a little fish or saucisson or even tarama/homous, and fruit and cheese...and a bottle of, invariably, Riesling, often German Kabinett but occasionally Alsace or lighter Oz (depends on whether we want to play tennis that afternoon actually).
