Observations from the International Pinot Noir Celebration

Michael Alberty, Springfield IL: Last night I attended an International Pinot Noir Celebration (IPNC) Winemakers' dinner at the home of Brian and Jill O'Donnell (Belle Pente Winery). I went into the dinner with a lot of built up anticipation because Michel Gros would be in attendance. But imagine my surprise when I saw Thomas Bachelder walk up. Thomas, the original winemaker at Lemelson Vineyards, is at the IPNC to represent Le Clos Jordanne of Ontario, Canada.
