I noted your comment about not being able to write up your notes on the flight home without the laptop, but I wonder what you think of the broader implications for wine and spirits? I believe that the restrictions on hand luggage will continue for some time as I would guess no-one will want to look 'soft' on security for quite a while. Even at the height of the previous security tightening after 9/11, where knives, corkscrews, knitting needles, etc were banned, you could still buy glass bottles despite their potential to be made into lethal weapons by smashing the neck in...
