Asit Chandmal, Bombay, India: There is a major and controversial furore in India at the moment about the dangerously high levels of pesticides in Pepsi and Coca Colas, milk, ground water, bottled water, etc. Are there any EU standards for safe levels of unwanted chemicals in wine? Could I for example find out how much of these are contained in e.g. Chateaux Latour, Margaux, Cheval Blanc vintage 2000? Do these top wineries regularly check, and publish these details?
