Red Loire straight from the refrigerator

Kim Wachtveitl, Thailand: I have had the chance to drink a wonderful '97 Bourgeuil in France this past Easter. The same bottle has been brought back to Thailand. Since I do not yet own a wine cooler, the bottle has been kept in a normal refrigerator (roughly 50F). I opened the wine this past week (straight out of the refrigerator), and decanted it - but the fullness and silky texture of the previous bottle never appeared, even after two hours exposed to air. What could explain this, other...
