Why Tempranillo is called Aragonês

I was visiting a friend of mine and he opened a bottle of the very good Tapada de Coelheiros ‘98 from Alentejo. We were talking about the grape varieties of that wine and I told him Tinta Roriz was the same grape as Aragonês. He asked me if it was called Aragonês because it came from Spain (Aragon) and I told him in Spain the same grape was called Tempranillo or Tinto Fino. Do you know if Tempranillo is originally from Aragon ?...
