Iain Storey, London: I agree with you wholeheartedly about better priced food in the US (see purple prose ). On a recent trip around New England I found that anything above the basic international fast food chains was about half the price of the UK and generally of equal, if not better quality. One place (it shall remain nameless) in New Hampshire offered a similar wine tasting experience to your offering from the Gotham Bar and Grill. The wine list (like the service) was more 1984 than...
