American responses to Carignan

All the good Carignans (see Can Carignan(e) ever be great? ) are exceptions to the rule. If you have old vine Carignane, that's one thing but replanting it strikes me as masochistic. It blends great with Zin though. Paul Draper is oftentimes right on the button.
How to tell what county you are in:
In Napa the word Carignane is pronounced as though the speaker grew up in Paris .
Sonoma ...the 'g' is pronounced....
