Fiano di Avellino then and now

On a recent short break in Rome my wife and I shared a couple of bottles of Fiano di Avellino (can't remember the producer or vintage I'm afraid!). We enjoyed them nevertheless and I decided to look at the OCW entry and was surprised by what I found.
The entry describes the wines as 'sturdy' and classical in style. The wines we tasted were fairly crisp, fruity and easy to drink. There was no oxidation in evidence.
