What VSOP stands for
George Parkes, South Africa:
I entered a competition that asked, "what does VSOP stand for in relation to brandy?" I am a Cape Wine Master student and knew the answer, but checked up in your Wine Encylopedia see that I was correct. I was told that there were no correct answers and that mine was incorrect. The competition organisers claim that the answer is,"Very ' Superior ' Old Pale", and not as we know Very Special Old Pale. Who is correct?
